The Paint Branch Home was built sometime in the 1700's. A time when slave ownership was tolerated. The former slaves endured many abuses during their time there.
Today the Paint Branch Home is an assisted living center. There have been many reports of seeing and hearing the former slaves.
A common ghostly activity seems to be the sound of the departed slaves singing. This activity has been reported at all times, it has been known to wake some residents at early morning hours.
Other activity has been the report of a frightening figure in tattered clothing standing at the foot of residents beds. The spirits eyes have been described as burning with anger.

i used to work in the office upstairs and got feelings that i didnt want 2 b alone . that place was creepy but i thought it was the elderly that lived there . outside the woods made strange sounds but we thought it was the people next door . i lost my dog for an hour in those woods
i am looking for someone that can give me more details about this place and maybe help me get in to do a investigation. Please let me know. thanks
My dad lived there as a patient for 7 years. I spent a lot of time there. I never, ever, once saw or heard anything even remotely spooky. I never heard the staff or other patients complain, either.
