Highland Road - near Lee Drive

Highland Road, Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Many places in Louisianna are haunted by civil war era ghosts. One such place is a spot on Highland Road near Lee Drive in Baton Rouge.

Baton Rogue became a strategic area for both Union and Confederate soldiers and was fought over fiercely. It is estimated that over 1,000 soldiers lost their lives in the conflict over Baton Rogue.

Today, the grisly ghosts of confederate soldiers can be seen crossing Highland Road. Most sightings take place in early fall during the months of September and October.

Witnesses say that the ghosts are a gory sight. They appear with wounds that they suffered in battle, covered in blood and some missing limbs.

Others have reported seeing only one bloodied soldier hobbling his way across the road.

This haunting has caused many calls to the local police department about injured men on the road. However, each time the police investigate nothing is ever found.
