Hello! My name is Jessica i am turning 14 on auguat 1st 2009, i decided to rent al capones room, # 301, for the night, with my mom and my 3 bestfriends, we are going to investigate. I have read many things about this hotel, and the paranormal scares me but it also fun to learn about for me, i have a feeling my friends will be a little shakey about it at 1st, but they will get more into it. i am so excited! :)

I've known people who have worked at the Barbee hotel, and they agree with the stories.

It's an interesting little place, and I'm fairly certain that the Al Capone stories are true, as I've heard about them my entire life.

I would love to hear about someone professionally investigating this situation... but the chances of it seem slim.

I work at the barbee hotel, its a very unique place to visit. I personally have never seen any ghosts; however I watched one of the doors leading to the upstairs kitchen fron the stairway swing open by itself, and I have heard some really creepy storys from some of my co workers. Such as apperances and stuff falling in closits door handles shaking and unexplained shadows.

I also work at the Barbee Hotel. lol...what up guys. If anyone would like to stay at the hotel, it is definately a very neat and historical place to visit! I work where even more hotel rooms were, we all do. As far as The Haunt, I am sure everyone's expieriences are different, depending on how you precieve your surroundings. I want to state for the record that every last one of you are crazy. I too work at Barbee, and for the most part I work alone. Nothing ever happens there .. and the orbs .. yea has anyone thought of our friendly gnats??? Come on people! On the other hand, I believe this is nothing more then the saying is true, everyone loves a good ghost story. It would just be nice if yall would stop because the stories gve e the heebie geebies.

I read all these comments and I think"those of you wanting to stay WILL see what you want here....but only when you are trying not to look"--------- I worked at barbee during high school from 2001-2004 and ended up quitting because i was bussing tables in the upstairs dining room at christmas and saw a man standing in the door in a top hat and coat. I told him his party went downstairs and looked up at a blur. This moment has stuck with me my entire life because it caused me to change my whole outlook. I got cold at the sight of it and my body shut down. That night i picked the exact spirit out of a book a ghost hunter had at the bar. ------a watchmen for capone. I hope for anyones sake that has ever been up in the halls between the dining room n hotel rooms they never experience this. Email me n i can give more detail.

We know for a fact it's haunted. Another paranormal team stayed overnight and investigated the Barbee a couple years ago. A few members were alking around the first and second floors doing a little ghost hunting. Inside the room was the tech guy was sitting watching the monitors and watched a shadow man come down the hallway and walk right up to the door of the room. He contacted the other members on the walkie talkie telling them to get back to the room immediately and see this. As the team rounded the corner the video shows the shadow man collapse and streak quickly down the hallway. Two years later we want in. Some of those original team members are working with us. We have a Flir Camera now along with a Paranormal PX, Ghost Box, color/night shot Survellience System and can download the video immediately upon capture. We're willing to have some of the employees hunt with us and help watch monitors. We have a little trick up our sleeve to get results. Sure hope we can get in.

Years ago before the hotel burn't down it was sold and the previous owner removed several items from the hotel to be sold at a later time .These items were stored in a back room at the x-Mas light outdoor place on highway 30 in Pierceton. The son owned this place ,I was making a delivery there one day in the 80's when I saw these things in the back room ,I commented on the full size 8 foot pool table with a quarter slot.The son told me it was in the Barbee Hotel and had been removed after the sale .I gave him my name and number and it was a year later that I received a phone call telling me I could purchase it if interested. I still own that pool table in it's original condition if interested I may want to sell it .
